About Me

Following the completion of my A Levels I joined Streets Accountants in September 2000. I trained and qualified as an Associate of Accounting Technicians (A.A.T) in 2002 and later qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2006. I remained at Streets as a Manager until March 2010 when I left to become the internal accountant of a Mechanical Engineering company based closer to home, this was after a priority change following the birth of my first son in 2008. In October 2011 with the permission of my current employer I started a Self Employed Accounts and Bookkeeping business completing work for several clients in my own time - Evenings / weekends and Holidays which is currently growing steadily.

I have been involved with the financial management of a variety of companies for over 10 years and have a wealth of experience and practical knowledge. Having worked with a number of small and medium size businesses both from an external accountants perspective and the internal management point of view, I have experience in office management, finance and accounting roles having had overall responsibility for both sales & purchase ledgers, credit control, cash book, bank account reconciliation, VAT returns , monthly management accounts, cashflows and the year end accounting.

The area I focus on is primarily the internal Book Keeping / Management Accounts / Reconciliations of a business working with / for the business owners on a regular basis to ensure everything balances regularly and they have as much information as they require as often as they need it. This saves them having to directly employ someone on a full / part time basis (which has its own employment law consequences) and focus on their priorities - sales / profits etc. By being involved regularly this puts me in a position, if wanted, to deal with the year end accountants taking away some of the stresses this may cause to the owners, but also allows them to ask any questions that arise on a regular basis rather than waiting until the year end.
